Back in August I told you all about my love for How I Built This With Guy Raz – a podcast about entrepreneurs. Each week, Guy interviews a business owner and you find out how they started out, how much money they had at the beginning, the drama and the regrets – it’s SO good. I listen to it every Monday, but I have to say, they’ve been a bit meh the past few weeks, but as I pressed play today I was happy to discover the latest instalment is Emily Weiss, the CEO of Glossier, one of my fave beauty brands.

As I was sat on the tube on my way home from work, I was listening to Emily talk about the Glossier journey, and I’ve never been more inspired to think of a money making plan of my own. I like the fact that she started out on a magazine (ahem!), and that she started her blog Into The Gloss in 2010, and then worked her butt off bringing Glossier to the world even though she never went to business school and didn’t have loads of money to start out with. I love the fact that she’s now a Forbes cover star, in the Fortune 40 under 40 list, and has made millennial pink cool. And don’t even get me started on the cool Glossier office… Dreamy!

Oh, and spoiler: Guy didn’t discuss Emily about her time on The Hills with Lauren Conrad, which is a shame.

I’ve been a fan of Emily’s for a long time, I don’t know about you, but I used to love Into The Gloss – it was so chic and stylish, and I remember being obsessed with Emily’s hair. In fact, I once took this photo into the hairdressers back in 2013…

I never did achieve that kind of blonde.
